A NEW THERMOSTAT HOUSING. For years, Small Block Ford enthusiasts have had three options for their thermostat housings:
1. The standard housing.
2. The same one in chrome or.
3. Make something yourself.

At the same time, our Chevy buddies have had many, many choices of thermostat housing and filler necks. Filler necks with chevy bases are available in Billet ones, blue ones, red ones, chrome ones, big ones and sexy ones. (using a filler neck with a chevy base will not be a sin, as they are all after market products and not from GM!!)

What I have invented * is a NEW THERMOSTAT HOUSING that:
1. allows the use of these many Chevy filler necks and
2. allows you to mount your thermostat in a higher position and
3. Allows you to mount your thermostat on a horizontal plane or the old vertical plane.

MY new thermostat Housing is CNC Machined billet 6061-T6 aluminum. It bolts directly to the intake manifold. You supply a filler neck that bolts directly above the thermostat housing. I supply the Billet Thermostat Housing and 4 stainless bolts and a bypass hose barb as used on most� small block ford intakes.

I� also make available for you to order, factory gaskets and the factory 190-degree thermostat that has the small, air bleeder valve. Prices for the "Motorcraft" gaskets and "Motorcraft"� thermostat are posted below. Buy using the factory air bleeder valve thermostat and placing it in a higher location, some of our issues with filling the system with antifreeze solution should be lessened.

A few months ago, I said I would add "skid plates" to my offerings. The very next week, I got bids and quoted from my machine shop/powder coating shop. We discussed Aluminum Vs Steel Vs Stainless. We decided that Powder coated 16-gauge steel would be the ticket. My machine shop owner says that Detroit does not use any steel over 16 gauge for its floors.These one piece "skid plates"� reinforce the bottom 6" of the front of the foot boxes. They also reinforce the bottom of the foot box. They will be riveted on the outside of the box to absorb the blow of any foreign object kicked up by the tires that might want to get inside the foot box.They are to be riveted and glued/siliconed into place. They can be added to a completed FFR MKI or MKII. Not sure about a MK III yet, but im checking.Since they are professionally powder-coated the paint will be very durable. And, they can easily be repainted any color one desires. The standard color, as received, is a� silver that closely matches our aluminum foot boxes.The composite puncture resistance of the standard foot box plus the 16-gauge steel will be many times the standard foot box skin. Since this is essentially a sandwich of Aluminum, Steel, Glue its hard to say just how much but my machine Shop guys says MANY TIMES.

One part that comes with your kit is a professionally made, out sourced license plate mounting bracket. Don’t use it. Especially if you have a personalized license plate that you don’t want to lose. The problem is, the license plate vibrates while you drive. The tabs that hold the bracket to your roadster are very thin. Some time, sooner or later, your COOL license plate will end up beside the road. It happened to me at about the 20,000 mile point. And, its happened to MANY, MANY other folks.Buy a heavy duty replacement unit from me or one of the other vendors.I offer this inexpensive, Heavy Duty replacement. It's made of 1/8" x 1" aluminum. You can polish it or leave it alone, as it will hardly be seen. I send it with no holes drilled. You can use your FFR supplied unit to drill your own holes or drill them where you need them.

Every FFR Roadster has two brake duct holes on the front of the car. I recommend that you buy my fresh air vent kit from another page on this web site and use them for their highest and best use, TO KEEP YOU COOL. Two of style A, B or C comes with your fresh air vent kit. You specify which style you want supplied.

However, these cars are very individual and everyone has various ideas on how they want to do just about every aspect of the build. SO, I offer 5 types of brake duct opening "BOOTS" for the creative builder.

1. One 3" Hose attachment
2. Two 3" hose attachments with only one open.
3. Two 3" hose attachments with both open.
4. One 5" hose attachment
5. No opening to the rear.

Style 4 would be probably used, on the right side only, in conjunction with a forced air / cold air induction system. (which I happen to be working on).

Style 5 would be used on a roadster for the following reasons.

1. To increase airflow through the radiator opening.
2. So you don’t see through the screen. To me a screen over these ducts that you can see through sort of looks funny.
3. I assume that having these openings closed off completely would add more top end speed or lower ET at the drag strip.

Style 5 used in conjunction with a lower air dam would keep a lot of air out from under the car, however, that’s just my opinion.

Its a custom designed boot to go behind the Oil Cooler duct on the FFR. The boot is sold in two versions: One with an attachment for a 5" hose, one version with two 3" hose attachments.�

The two hoses attachments can be used for front brake rotor cooling, Rear brake rotor cooling� or an alternant source for fresh air for the foot boxes IF you are using the brake ducts as brake ducts.

THe 5" hose version will be for fresh/cooler/ram air for the K&N Air Filter.

The boot will glue or rivet into place. Its made from 3/16" ABS vacuum formed plastic.

This Kit WORKS with standard quad shock suspension, the 3 link suspension (present or future) or IRS suspension. This Kit makes your trunk much more serviceable. You can actually bring some luggage with you on a trip. This is done by adding an area 26 inches wide, 5 inches deep and 15 inches toward the front.
